Homework

Homework varies depending on each individual student. I will occasionally give your child homework, especially in the area of articulation. I expect each child practice their artiuclation homework out loud, preferably with an adult or older sibling present. This way, the adult is able to help model the correct sound for the child and help correct their speech. Practicing artiuclation for 5-10 minutes a few days a week can help generalize the child's correct production of to other settings.

-Ideas to practice articulation

  • Worksheets
  • Spelling lists -When your child studies his/her spelling words for the week, have them say the words aloud using their best speech sounds.
  • Reading-Have your child read aloud a few pages of a book. Make sure they focus on their target speech sound.
  • Conversation-Remind your child to use their good speech sounds during dinner conversation.
