Thank you for checking out my homepage!  I have not been teaching since the age of the dinosaurs, but close to it. I have taught both Kindergarten and First Grade with a brief glimpse into 4th grade.  I have also worked as a Reading Coordinator.  This will be my 30th year teaching and my 18th year at Oakwood School.

I love to share my love of reading with new readers and to help each child find and build on their strengths.  I want all my students to see themselves as successful students, ready to face the many unknown challenges that await them down the road with courage and confidence.

On a personal note, I am a teacher, wife, sister, daughter, friend, survivor, yogi and tree-hugger. I live in Elmhurst with my husband, Richard.  We both love good movies, long walks, and watching sunsets over the lake in upper Michigan where we share my great-grandfather's log cabin with our cousins.
