Message from the Principal
River Valley is a third through fifth-grade building. We house 750 students. We believe in an inclusive environment that teaches children tolerance and understanding. We embrace the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) philosophy and believe our children do better when they feel safe at school. We have high academic expectations and strive to have each child work to their potential. Common Core State Standards drive our lessons throughout the day. We service children of varying levels and know that it is our responsibility to teach so our children learn. We believe in preparing our children for the 21st century. We have Mimios, 5 iPADS and document cameras in every classroom. Every stuent in the building has a Chromebook that they use daily and take home at night. We are a 1:1 environment. Technology is seamlessly woven into our school day and we carefully choose when to use our chromebooks and when to use text books or other materials. Students are expected to bring their chromebook home each night to charge for the next day.

Children may close their ears to advice, but their eyes are always open to example.
