Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A Announces Jennifer Franzese as Newest Board of Education Member
Lemont, IL — Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Franzese to the Board of Education, filling the vacancy created by the departure of longtime board member Patrick Kerrigan. Franzese was sworn in as the newest board member at the December 10th special board meeting.
Franzese brings more than two decades of diverse educational experience—including leadership, special education, teaching, and higher education instruction—to her new role serving the students, families, and staff of SD113A.
Franzese currently serves as the District Outside Placement Coordinator for Community High School District 99 in Downers Grove. Her career reflects deep expertise in special education, student services, and instructional leadership. She has also worked as a special education teacher and second-grade teacher, giving her a strong classroom foundation and a comprehensive understanding of student needs across grade levels.
In addition to her K–12 leadership experience, Franzese is a longtime higher education instructor, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. Franzese also has a long-standing connection to SD113A, having served on the District Leadership Team, providing insight into district initiatives, school improvement priorities, and community-focused decision-making and is extremely involved in many other Lemont organizations. She and her husband, Mike, have three children- Annabelle, Max and Cooper.
“On behalf of the Board of Education, we are excited to welcome Jennifer Franzese to SD113A,” said Board President Damon Ascolani. “Jennifer’s extensive background in special education, instructional leadership, and higher education—paired with her years of engagement in leadership—makes her an exceptional addition to our Board. Her student-centered mindset, professionalism, and deep commitment to our community will be invaluable as we continue our work on behalf of children and families.”
Franzese holds advanced degrees in Educational Administration and Multicategorical Special Education, along with bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and History. “I am honored to serve the Lemont-Bromberek community as a member of the Board of Education,” Franzese said. “This district means so much to me and my family, and I look forward to partnering with fellow board members, staff, families, and students to support the continued excellence and growth of SD113A.”
