Congratulations to Dr. Koch and Dr. Sweeney
Celebrating Staff Achievements

SD113A is a place where lifelong learning is not just something we talk about, it is something we embrace, encourage, and explore every day! As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to take a moment to recognize two members of our administrative team who have successfully defended their dissertations and earned doctoral degrees in education.
In October, Dr. Kate Koch, Assistant Superintendent of HR successfully defended her dissertation, and Dr. Joe Sweeney, Principal at Old Quarry Middle School did the same in November. Both of these SD113A leaders graduated from the University of Saint Francis with their doctorates in education, showing a dedication to hard work, continuous improvement, and achieving goals.
“We are proud of Dr. Koch and Dr. Sweeney for their accomplishments,” said Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel. “Completing a program like this while also being successful in your professional life requires a sense of balance and tenacity that is essential to becoming a stronger school and district leader. We look forward to both of them continuing to bring their knowledge to enhance our students' experiences in SD113A."
Please join us in congratulating both of these leaders on their recent accomplishments!
