Cynthia (Cindy) Kelly is currently serving her eighth year on the District 113A School Board. Cindy is originally from Joliet, Illinois and received a BA in Communications from College of St. Francis.
Cindy worked for 10 years as a Sales Manager in the corporate office of The Freeman Companies, a professional Exposition Management Company. She voluntarily left that position to become a substitute teacher in District 113A from 2005-2011 while raising her children.
Cindy also served as the PTA/PTO president at Old Quarry from May 2009 – May 2011 and served a two year term on the School District 113A Educational Foundation. She was PTA/PTO room mom for seven years, and a member of the Band Boosters from March 2010 – 2011.
Cindy was a Religious Education Catechist at St. Alphonsus Church, advancement chair for the Boy Scouts Troop 49, and Executive Board Secretary for Hornets Football.
Cindy has been married to her husband Paul (CPA and Financial Controller) for 24 years. They have two children who attended District 113A schools and are now in college.
Cindy served as the Board President for four years and also as the Board's Secretary for two. She has been a member of the district's Policy, Calendar, Insurance, Technology, Negotiations, Scheduling, Strategic Planning, and Finance Committees.
Currently, she is serving as the IASB liaison for the SD113A School Board and is a member of the Technology and Insurance Committees.
