SUMMER READING 2013

In addition to the reading lists on our website, parents may also find the Lexile website useful. For students in grades 1-8, a student’s Lexile Range can be found on the MAP assessment score report under the Reading Goals Performance section, right above the Explanatory Notes. After logging in to the Lexile website (http://www.lexile.com/fab/Illinois), a parent may enter a child’s Lexile Range or grade level to find books that match your child’s reading level and/or areas of interest. However, it is important to note that parents will still need to review the books listed for your child’s Lexile range to ensure that the themes and topics in the books are appropriate for your child’s age and maturity level.
Thank you for your support and for helping to keep the joy of reading alive over the long, hot summer! Happy reading!
