Thank you for visiting the Principal's Page for Old Quarry Middle School. My name is Bill Caron and I have been principal of OQ since 2009. I am a resident of Romeoville, Illinois, and have been in education since 1985. Formally I was the principal at Wilkins Junior High School, assistant principal at Lincoln Junior High School, and Dean of Students at Naperville North High School. I have taught general science, biology, anatomy physiology, math, and social studies. My education includes a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University, a master's degree in Educational Administration from Lewis University, a bachelor's degree in Biology from Benedictine University, and over 30 hours in curriculum studies from Northern Illinois University.
I believe every child can be successful at Old Quarry Middle School. Each child is unique in the way they learn and our staff at OQ is excellent at determining the right strategies to help our students reach their highest potential. Our staff uses formative and summative assessments, classroom observations, and listens to the students to develop instructional goals in their classroom.
I believe that the middle school years are the most formative years in our students' lives. This is a time where it is critically important for our teachers and support staff to focus in on our students' academic growth, physical growth, and social emotional growth. If we value young adolescents, provide meaningful learning opportunities, have multiple learning approaches, and involve the family, we will see our students grow into citizens who will be responsible and successful. At Old Quarry Middle School all students are our children, and with that, our responsibility.
I invite you to visit some of our teachers' web pages and other links regarding our school. Feel free to contact any of our staff or me if you have questions or thoughts you would like to share with us.
Thank you for visiting the Old Quarry Middle School web page.
