On Saturday, October 3, both the 7th and 8th grade teams from Old Quarry Middle School won first place trophies for the second year in a row at the Providence High School Academic Bowl.
Sponsored by Mrs. Laurie Saulys, the teams' competed in the areas of language arts, math, geography, science, and social studies. Seventh grade team members and individual winners included Alex Micco, Alyssa Stecyna, Josh McDermott, Bailey Fox, Kyra Udziela (5th place language arts), Melissa Smith (4th place geography), Becky Dowling (1st place language arts), and Justin Whitehouse (1st place science). Eighth grade team members and individual winners included Alexandra Albrecht, Amanda Huegelmann, Stanton Zaczak (3rd place geography), Ingrid Lejins (3rd place language arts), Ian Dickson (3rd place social studies), Jarrod Hanson (2nd place math), and Zak Krepps (1st place science).
