Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Discipline Study Committee is to:
• Fulfill School Code requirements;
• Identify the core beliefs that define the school’s culture;
• Create a shared vision by clarifying what the core beliefs look like in practice;
• Collect accurate data to identify where the district currently is compared to the shared vision of where it should be;
• Identify what will happen to close the gaps between current reality and the vision;
• Develop a systematic action plan to change;
• Embrace both collective autonomy and collective accountability in closing the gap; and
• Make recommendations to the Board of Education and Administration for the student code of conduct.
