MATH BOWL: HUGE SUCCESS

On May 6th and May 7th, students from District 113A traveled to Prairie State College to compete in the 2009 South Cook Math Bowl. River Valley School was represented by third grader Josh Reitz, fourth grader Kevin Tuscher, and fifth grader, Misbah Chagpar. In team competition, the third and fourth graders were awarded 1st place in a field of 23 teams and the fifth and sixth graders were awarded 4th place in a field of 25 teams. In individual competition, Josh Reitz was awarded a 2nd place medal in a field of 46 competitors and Kevin Tuscher was awarded a 5th place medal in a field of 50 competitors. In addition, Josh Reitz was awarded an MVP medal for the district team. Congratulations go to Josh, Kevin, and Misbah for their outstanding achievements in Mathematics competition.
